The Eidgah or Eid Musalla – the Open Field where the Eid Salaat is performed – is the standing Sunnah practice. On the occasion of the last Eidul Fitr, we of MUSJIDUL FUQARA, in submission to this Sunnah, had decided that Eid Salaat would not be performed in the Musjid, and that all of our Musallees would join in the Eid Salaat at the Eidgah in Malabar.
However, due to haraam acts perpetrated for years at the Eidgah by those who were organizing the Salaat facilities at the Eidgah, we had emphasized that Musjidul Fuqara will not have Eid Salaat in the Musjid on condition that there will be no haraam activities at the Eidgah. Our conditions were accepted, hence we were vastly pleased to be able to fulfil the Sunnah of the Eidgah.
But to our consternation, we discovered that we had been duped. Our conditions were not observed. In fact, it transpired that there was no intention to abide by the conditions stipulated by us. The agreement made with us was a ruse and a trick to lure us into the Eidgah for a nafsaani agenda.
Two major acts which have pained us were:
1) Haraam pictography by the organizers, using stupid ‘drones’.
2) The intentional confusion caused by NOT appointing Mukabbireen (the persons to proclaim the Takbeer).
The consequence of the absence of Mukabbireen was chaos which made a debacle of the Eid Salaat. The Salaat of numerous persons was rendered invalid in consequence of this ploy.
The mukabbireen were not appointed on account of our insistence that the microphone may not be used for the Salaat and Khutbah. Thus, the motive for creating the debacle by not appointing the Mukabbireen was to create the evil and baseless idea that the confusion was the consequence of not using the microphone.
Let it be well understood that in the unanimous opinion of all our senior Ulama, it is not permissible to use the microphone for the Salaat and the Khutbah. It may be used for the lecture/talk/bayaan, but not for the Salaat and Khutbah. The validity of the Salaat and Khutbah is not based on the ability of the musallees to hear the Imaam’s recitation. The orderly changing of postures from Qiyaam to Ruku, etc. can be quite easily executed if the Mukabbirs are vantageously placed and if the Imaam prolongs the Ruku’ and Sajdah sufficiently.
We have performed Jumuah and Eid Salaat in India in a Musjid which accommodated tens of thousands of musallees. No microphone was used, and there was absolutely no confusion.
IN VIEW OF THE BREACH AND HARAAM PERPETRATED, WE HAVE DECIDED TO PERFORM EIDUL ADHAA IN MUSJIDUL FUQARA. WE SHALL NOT JOIN THE GANG AT THE EIDGAH.
PLEASE NOTE: EID SALAAT SHALL BE PERFORMED AT MUSJIDUL FUQARA ON SUNDAY, 10 JULY, 2022. AND ALSO AT MUSJIDUN NABAWI (The Humphries Street Musjid, North End, Port Elizabeth).
